Thank you, Two years of blogging today

I can hardly believe it, I have been blogging for 2 years!

I can still remember when my daughter said I should start a blog, I wasn't so sure.....what would I write about, would people want to view it and how do you do it?

I kept putting it off and then I decided I wanted to be on a Design Team for a craft company and one of things people kept telling me is that you need a blog and a good presence on social media......

Hence, Home is where the craft is was born and I haven't looked back since.

The first picture I shared was my bookfolded birdcage, it was a tutorial post

It's been viewed almost 5000 times and makes me so proud that so many people liked it, commented and started following me as a result.

In the 2 years since I have done so many different things in my crafting journey, I've been a member of  3 design teams, I'm just about to start with another company for a years term and am guest designing with another for 3 months.

I've had items in magazines, design team samples on telly and displayed my work at a BIG craft show as well as run workshops for fellow crafters.

None of this would have happened with out YOU!  You read, liek and share my work, leave me lovely comments and give me that boost in confidence I need.  All of this gives me the inspiration to go on and create more and aspire to bigger things, thats why I want to thank you.

I love what I do and love interacting with you all, here's to many more blog posts, tutorials and crafty makes.

You guys rock my world

Thank you x

Visible Image Angel - Mono printing

Today I am sharing a print I created using the Gelli Plate from Gelli Arts which I then added a stamped image to using Visible Image Angels stamp set.

I used Pebeo acrylic high viscosity paint which I added to the Gelli Plate using a brayer,  I used shades 55 and 352, I then layerd some smooth uncoated card on top to pull the print.

Once dry I used versafine onyx black pigment ink to stamp the large Angel image, you will notice that the image isn't as dark and crisp as it normally is with Versafine, this is because one of the paints I used was metallic, I like the look it gives, it's almost ghostly.

Next I added some black paint through a stencil to encase the image, I also added some Nuvo Jewel drops from Tonic studios. All that was left to do was add the image to some brushed gold cardstock.

I really like how this project turned out and plan on using the image in a box frame as a piece of home decor.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Tattered Lace Classic Deco collection - Design Team Samples

Good Morning Crafty friends, Not only is it Friday which means the weekend starts very soon but today Tattered Lace are launching a new collection called Classic Deco on Create and Craft TV at 12pm.

I had the pleaseure of working with 3 of the new dies and some of the backing papers from the accompanying CD-ROM.

This first card used the Classic Diasy from the Jazz age elements bundle. I cut 3 of the Daisys in Black and 3 in Gold, I trimmed them down to create a flower topper for this fancy fold card.

This card uses Frank and the Classic Daisy and a lot of matting and layerig.

I made a box using the Classic Daisy and some simple die cut shapes and the card has Molly, a lovey Art Deco lady and of course some feathers.

I used the Classic Daisy and Molly on this card in classic black and gold, the backing paper if from the CD-Rom thats in the show.

Now we have Frank Classic Daisy and Molly, I love how Molly looks as if taking Frank for a walk is all too much for her.

This is a panorama style cards using Frank Classic Daisy and Molly. I used the Classic Daisy to create the corners and the chandelier.

This collection is another really elegant and versatile collection with a timeless feel, a must have for Art Deco lovers.

I hope you'll tune in to watch the show is you can.

Have a lovely weekend x
